Serendipity
Maybe that word best describes what I experienced last saturday. Here is the story:
Saturday, August 9 2008, my mom was given a free room at Shangri-La. She had to attend to some gathering (that's what I guessed...). So here I am, at the hotel, spending the whole weekend. Nothing to do. So I decided to go swimming with my mom.
She met her 'gathering' friend there, in the pool. They chatted about something that I don't really care of until she mentioned a word: 'hotspot'. "Yeah, there's a hotspot in the lobby." But wait, she continued: "My brother uses the internet from the poolside."
Aha... brilliant idea! I was too exhausted to continue swimming, so I decided to take a shower. And... Let's go to the poolside with my laptop! Lucky me, I brought my beloved laptop.
I downloaded some latest comics and anything I could. Well, the connection speed wasn't incredible. So I had to wait for quite a time.
As usual, there'll be no fun in the internet without chatting. And so I started the windows live messenger, logged in, and bang! The door to the world has now been opened.
"Oh, kik's online,"
I nudged her and chatted. And then it began, the serendipity. She said that she was at Shangri-La too. Thrilling!! What a coincidence. She said she was going to the cakeshop, and I didn't notice that the cakeshop she meant was right behind me!!!
The wind was powerful. And the battery was already low that time. I shutted it down and went back to my room.
That was the time I saw a girl that LOOKS REALLY LIKE KIKY. I decided not to take the elevator to see wheter it was really her or not. Instead, I took the escalator. And the girl did too!
OK, that's enough. I think that was really her. I took the elevator. 'Coz there's no escalator leading to the 5th floor.
The door's opened. I jumped into the elevator. By that time, I heard some footsteps rushing to the elevator. I held the elevator just in case that the person rushing really needed to rush.
Guess who the person was: It's Kiky!!! What a real serendipity! I mean, the timing was too goog to be true. But, it was no time to think about that. So I just talked to her.
Really, it was a strange occurance. Check this out:
- The day we met at Shangri-La was unplanned. Kiky took the voucher and my mom attended to a gathering. Kiky got the voucher from "CIRCLE OF SUCCESS" and my mom too!
- The time when Kiky and I took the escalator was fortunately synchronized.
- Kiky took the elevator because her mother told her not to go to the parking area.
